Now a days I think it is rare to find true creativity. And I'm not talking about distinguishing colors in the spectrum or changing up the laces on your shoes, I'm thinking real ingenuity. The stuff that really makes you think which is the same stuff that leaves people speechless because they either don't know what side to take, or can't think of a side at all.
Ingenuity I think, in many cases, has been mastered by rappers. Lil' Wayne for instance, I think it took real creativity and ingenuity to relate all of his punchlines metaphorically while captivating our attention long enough with his wittiness. I enjoy it, however I have to take into consideration where has the attention span of most Americans has gone. After all, it only takes at most six seconds to deliver a punchline, and we deem it the greatest line of all time.
Next, where has the creativity gone in television. Reality TV has become trash. I'm glad that I hardly have time to watch TV anymore because I only laugh at all the ridiculousness. In fact, I'm glad that ingenuity created entities such as Youtube to cater to my short attention span and now we can just get straight to the point, without letting the beat build, b!*@#!
